Le Chalet, restaurant and cheese-making demonstration

Cheesemaker and alpine-style restaurant in Château-d'Oex

Built and designed in 1976 by Marcel Lenoir, Le Chalet showcases an authentic alpine chalet.

On 14 December 2012, Le Chalet once again opened its doors to the public. The alpine restaurant and souvenir shop are located on the first floor. The barn is turned into a ski school office in winter and a room suitable for workshops and exhibitions in summer. At Le Chalet, you can also admire a miniature model of the Montreux-Oberland-Bernois (MOB) line serving the region of Montreux to the Bernese Oberland.

The main tourist attraction is the making of hard cheese by a cheesemaker in a traditional costume. "Le Chalet Organic" is then ripened in a cellar and partnered with the traditional dishes of the restaurant.

Book a table at Le Chalet in Château-d'Oex for an evening spent in rustic surroundings enjoying a good regional dish!
