Paper cutting

Eine altüberlieferte Kunst

A traditional art called ‘découpage’ in French which brings paper images to life by using tiny scissors or knives. Composed of one or more pieces of paper, in colour or in black and white, traditional mountain life and animals are delicately displayed on a white background.

Traditional cutting art, otherwise known as ‘découpage,’ is mainly inspired by mountain life and alpine activities. Here in the Pays-d’Enhaut and in the Gessenay, the famous artists, Hauswirth, Saugy and Schwizgebel developed this art through their own personal experiences and day-to-day lives.
