Previously an ordinary ski field, the Monts Chevreuils area is now reserved exclusively for backcountry skiing and snowshoeing. Setting out from La Lécherette or Les Moulins, try out any one of the numerous climbing trails that lead to the 1,749 m summit.
Whether you set out from Les Moulins or La Lécherette, the summit of the Monts Chevreuils is a must-achieve destination for backcountry skiers and snowshoers. The Monts Chevreuils used to be an ordinary ski field, but is now equipped with a wide range of marked climbing routes, so there are trails suitable for all levels of ability. And after you’ve reached to top, you shouldn’t fail to make a stop at the eponymous mountain hut. Located at 1,700 m above sea level and open only during the winter season, the hut serves food and drinks. Or you could spend the night in what is a truly magical spot: the view over the valley is alone worth the visit. Every February, the mountain play host to the Monts Chevreuils Trophy, a famous nocturnal ski-mountaineering race.
