The mountain pastures of the Mont-Dessous and the Mont-Dessus were close to abandon before Pierre Landolt purchased them in 2004.
Today a herd of goats, three Hinterwald cows and medicinal herbs and plants adorn these mountain pastures.
In December 2004, Pierre Landolt purchased these two mountain pastures along with their mountain chalets. He then began his search for people to help his daughter Charlotte, bring these alpine pastures back to life.
With an organic agricultural approach Laetitia Jacot, along with her partner, Jean-Philippe Blum, believe that ‘the food which helps our body to function must be of utmost quality.’ The couple maintains the two mountain pastures and ensures the quality of the organic products produced on-site. A chemical-free philosophy is not only beneficial for their plants and animals but also for the wild-life which coexist with the farm.
Since 2009, the couple lives year-round at the Mont-Dessous which overlooks the village of Rossinière at 1350m in altitude. The Garden of the Monts produces a variety of organic and chemical-free products including herbal teas, sirops and cosmetics.
