Welcome to Rougemont, an alpine village in the Pays-d'Enhaut!
Located at almost 1'000 meters of altitude, Rougemont instantly seduces us with its architectural heritage. In the village you will find several magnificent chalets, which bear witness to the regional folk art. These wooden houses, certain of which date back more than 400 years, proudly display engravings, paintings, flowers and inscriptions. Rougemont also has preserved an exceptional historical heritage. Built by monks of the Cluniac order in 1080, the site includes a Romanesque church from the 11th century, as well as a castle from the 16th century, both of which are famous cultural monuments.
In both summer and winter, this mountain destination offers a wide range of outdoor activities. The Videmanette cable car offers an ideal starting point for beautiful summer hikes and in winter long sunny slopes!
Culture is an integral part of village life. Whether it be around paper cuttings with the famous artist Louis Saugy or in terms of music with the many concerts organised in the church, a multitude of cultural events await you throughout the year!
All these qualities have earned the village of Rougemont a ranking within the The Most Beautiful Villages in Switzerland Association at the beginning of 2017. This organism was created in 2015 with the aim to unite villages of exceptional character, preserving and enhancing their heritage and image.
Enjoy discovering this little jewel of the Alpes vaudoises!
