Protective dogs

During the summer, when farmers go up to the mountain, they take great care to protect their animals!

Guard dogs have been bred for thousands of years to protect the animals in our mountain pastures. Their presence repels potential predators that live in our mountains.

These protectors can be aggressive when hikers enter their territory. When you see these dogs in the distance on your hiking trail, it is best to turn back. In order to take every precaution before setting off on your walk, do not hesitate to contact the Tourist Office.
